How to Make
Each mix pouch comes with specific instructions on the back.
You'll need to add:
- Milk or plant-based milk
- Vegetable oil or melted butter
How to make:
- Empty the mix into a microwave-safe mug.
- Add your milk and oil. Stir until smooth.
- Microwave on high until puffed and just set on top - usually 75-90 seconds depending on the flavor. Add a few extra seconds if needed.
- Let it cool for a minute or two.
- Add any included toppings as directed on your pouch, then dig in and enjoy!

Red Velvet Cake: Unbleached all-purpose flour, sugar, vanilla powder, baking powder (sodium acid pyrophosphate, sodium bicarbonate, cornstarch), natural cocoa powder, vinegar powder (vinegar, maltodextrin), natural red color (maltodextrin, vegetable juice color, turmeric), salt.
Cream Cheese Frosting: Powdered sugar (sugar, cornstarch), butter powder (butter [cream, salt], nonfat dry milk), cream cheese powder (cream cheese [pasteurized milk and cream, cheese culture, salt, carob bean gum], nonfat dry milk), cornstarch, salt.
Hot Cocoa Cake: Unbleached all-purpose flour, brown sugar, Dutch process cocoa powder, baking powder (sodium acid pyrophosphate, sodium bicarbonate, cornstarch), cornstarch, vanilla powder, salt, cinnamon.
Marshmallow Topping: Mini marshmallows (corn syrup, sugar, modified cornstarch, dextrose, water, contains less than 2% of gelatin, tetrasodium pyrophosphate [whipping aid], natural and artificial flavor, Blue 1).
Birthday Cake: Unbleached all-purpose flour, sugar, sprinkles (sugar, palm kernel and palm oil, corn starch, colored with beet juice, vegetable juice, annatto extract, spirulina extract, turmeric, beta-carotene, paprika oleoresin, sunflower lecithin, maltodextrin, carnauba wax, cellulose gum), baking powder (sodium acid pyrophosphate, sodium bicarbonate, cornstarch), salt, vanilla powder.

Is the topping included?
Yes - it comes inside the main pouch in its own smaller pouch. The frosting is a dry mix you just stir with a splash of milk or water when you're ready, so no refrigeration needed.
What size mug should I use?
We recommend a 12-14 oz mug. Wider, shorter mugs tend to work best since they generally cook more evenly, but any mug in that range works well. You may need to adjust cook time slightly depending on the size and shape.
How do I find the right cook time for my microwave?
We don't currently provide times for different wattages, so start at the lower end of the suggested time and add 5-10 seconds at a time until the center is just set and no wet patches remain. Every microwave runs a little differently, so checking as you go is the best approach.
How long do the mixes keep?
All of our mixes - including the frosting and topping packets - are shelf stable for up to 6 months when stored in a cool, dry place.
Do you offer gluten free, dairy free, or vegan options?
We don't currently have gluten free options, but we're actively developing some and hope to start testing soon! All of our cake mixes are dairy free and vegan. The frosting toppings do contain dairy. The Hot Cocoa mug cake comes with marshmallows, which are dairy free - though they do contain gelatin and are not vegan. Since the marshmallows come in a separate pouch, you can always swap in your own vegan marshmallows if you prefer.
